Methuselah and Mike

My friend Mike sent me this picture of himself with Blue-on-White cotton Plato Grande next to the oldest living tree. But let Mike speak for himself:
"Here is the world’s oldest living tree, Methuselah, a Bristlecone Pine, Pinus longaeva, at 4,850 years old; Mike, at 74 years yrs old; and his brand-new cotton beret, only a couple of weeks old.  As it happens, 56 years ago I was a member of the trail crew that first built the trail to Methuselah, in 1960, and I go back to say “hi!” every couple of years, today included.  At 10,000 feet in the White Mountains, and a 5-mile trail, it is quite a hike, and getting harder every year!"
Incredible, what a beautiful creature (the tree).
